At Duncraig Dental Care we are pleased to support the Federal Government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). It is a Medicare scheme that has been introduced to replace the Teen Dental Voucher since January 2014 to combat nation’s declining oral health in children. It provides the chance to attain much needed dental care without having to pay upto a certain limit.

Six-monthly dental check-ups are essential in today’s preventative dental care which is followed here at Duncraig Dental Care. Detecting problems in their earlier stages can save from escalating serious complications that may become irreparable or progress into complex treatments and avoid preventable expenses. Therefore at Duncraig Dental Care we are focus to identify the issues and treat them early.

Is your child eligible?

More than 3 million children will benefit from this! Eligible families will receive a letter to confirm their eligibility from Medicare. Your child must be aged between two and seventeen years, hold a valid Medicare card and part of a family in receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A or one of the following relevant Government payments: Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY, Disability Support Pension, Parenting Payment, Special Benefit, Carer Payment, Double Orphan Pension, Veteran’s Children Education Scheme (if the child is 16 or over), Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act Education and Training Scheme (if the child is 16 or over).

How much does this Benefit Schedule cover?

The total Benefit entitlement is capped at $1000 per child over a two year period. Here at Duncraig Dental Care we are happy to Bulk Bill treatment which saves you time from submitting a claim separately. This means that as long as your child has funds remaining in their cap, there will be no out of pocket cost to you. Any unclaimed benefit cannot be used or transferred after two calendar years. We have chosen to set our treatment fees as equal to the amounts provided by Medicare. This is a conscious decision intended to clearly show that we view the dental health and wellbeing of our children as the utmost priority.

What if the treatment plan exceeds the $1000 allowance?

If the treatment required exceeds the cap, standard practice fees will be applied. Any such fees will be discussed with you prior to the provision of treatment. If the initial treatment plan changes at any stage, you will be informed and new appropriate treatment options will be discussed.
